Overview

PriceMinder (hereinafter "this extension") is a Chrome browser extension designed for Shopee cross-border sellers, providing competitor price monitoring and alert notifications. We value your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect your information.

Data We Collect

This extension only collects the following data when you actively initiate an action:

  • Product information — When you click "Add to Watch" on a Shopee product page, the extension reads the current page's product name, price, product link, and store name
  • Price records — The backend collection engine periodically scrapes prices for products you've added to monitoring, building price history data
  • Extension settings — Your alert thresholds, polling intervals, and other preference settings
This extension does not automatically collect any data. All data collection is either actively triggered by you (adding a watch) or executed by a backend scheduled task you've authorized (price collection).

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Your browser browsing history
  • Your Shopee account, password, or login credentials
  • Your personal identifying information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
  • Any page content unrelated to monitored products

How Data Is Stored

All monitoring data (product info, price records, alert records) is stored in a cloud PostgreSQL database deployed on servers in mainland China. Data is transmitted via HTTPS encryption, and the database has access controls and regular backups.

Your extension settings (API address, Token) are stored in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage) and are never uploaded to third-party servers.

How Data Is Used

We do not sell, share, or use your data for advertising purposes.

  • Providing price monitoring and change alert services
  • Generating price trend charts and historical records
  • Pushing price-drop alerts via Feishu (Lark) Webhook or desktop notifications
  • Providing price data query capabilities to AI assistants via the MCP protocol

Permissions Explained

This extension requests the following Chrome permissions for these purposes:

  • storage — Saves your API address, Token, monitored product list, and alert settings to browser local storage (chrome.storage.local)
  • notifications — Pushes desktop alert notifications via Chrome when a competitor drops their price
  • alarms — Uses Chrome scheduled tasks (chrome.alarms) to periodically check for price changes and trigger alert detection
  • host_permissions (shopee.sg / .com.my / .co.th / .vn / .com) — Injects the "Add to Watch" button on Shopee product pages and reads product name, price, and other data
  • host_permissions (priceminder.online) — Communicates with the backend service to sync monitoring data and push alerts
This extension does not request highly sensitive permissions such as activeTab, tabs, scripting, or cookies. All data collection is either actively triggered by you (clicking "Add to Watch") or executed by a backend scheduled task you've authorized (price detection).

How to Delete Your Data

You can delete your data at any time through the following methods:

  • Delete monitored products individually in the extension popup panel
  • Click "Clear All Data" on the extension settings page
  • After uninstalling the extension, locally stored configuration is automatically cleared by the browser

Policy Updates

This privacy policy may be updated as product features evolve. Updated policies will be published on this page with a revised date. Significant changes will be communicated to users via in-extension notifications.
